In August 2018 Toshiba welcomed three visitors from
Africa at our headquarter in Tokyo as part of African
Business Education (ABE) Initiative’s short term
internship. ABE initiative is Japanese governmental
scholarship programme for African students to go to
Japan to study for master degrees and experience
internship.
During their two weeks programme students from Kenya and
Tanzania had a close look at Toshiba’s operation at
Toshiba Corporation, Toshiba
Energy Systems
& Solutions Corporation, Toshiba
Plant Systems
& Services Corporation and various factories.
Furthermore they had opportunity to meet with Toshiba’s
president and COO Satoshi Tsunakawa and also held
presentation and workshop about how Toshiba to develop
business in their home countries.
It was such a rare opportunity for us to host African
students in Japan and as Toshiba Group we would like to
continue supporting ABE initiative students in the
future.
