As a leading electric equipment manufacturer, Toshiba has globally supplied reliable, innovative and environmentally friendly products and services to the energy market for more than 100 years. During the course of the last century we have delivered approximately 1,700 steam turbine units, 240 hydraulic turbine units, 300 hydraulic generator units and 32 nuclear reactor units to customers throughout the world.

Products and Services
Since 1928, Toshiba has been supplying steam and gas turbines to many of our customers around the world. Day and night, these turbines provide safe, reliable and efficient source of electrical energy to many nations. Toshiba Thermal plants operate economically and reliably under various operating conditions and we are uniquely qualified to meet the power generation needs of today and tomorrow. We pride ourselves in designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining power generation systems, steam turbines and generators, gas combined cycles, and Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) Power Plants, to best meet the particular needs of each customer.
Hydro electric Power
Toshiba is able to offer turnkey hydro power systems, pumped storage systems and micro hydro power generation by providing turbines and generators of all sizes. We deliver small to large hydro power systems and micro hydro equipment of remarkable design and efficiency, which cater to rivers, discharge channels, agricultural and industrial waterways, etc. The range of power systems are manufactured at the state-of-the-art plants in Japan and China, which are fully compliant with International Electro-Technical Commission (IEC) and other international quality control standards.
Toshiba is continuously striving to use renewable energy for a wider range of operations. In 2015, we used about 4,883 MWh's worth of renewable energy. This means that we were able to reduce our CO2 emissions by about 2,490 tons. Toshiba has also used a green power system since January 2005, and we have since been purchasing 2,000 MWh of electricity annually under a green power certificate.
Toshiba’s geothermal power generation solution is one of the most notable renewable energy systems. We are the first Japanese manufacturer to supply geothermal steam turbine and we have No.1 share in installed capacity basis in the world. We are continuously engaging extensive laboratory and field research, which lead to our success in modernisation and upgrading geothermal facilities globally.
